PIGAFETTA
2 species, P. filaris, confined to Sulawesi, Moluccas & New Guinea, and P. elata |
| Growing Comments: |
Pigafetta palms are tall, impressive & very fast growing. They have true tropical rainforest requirements & will not tolerate cold weather. One unusual characteristic of Pigafetta seedlings is that they require full sun from a very early age in order to survive. Once established, a Pigafetta will add up to 7 ft of trunk per year, giving it a 9.5-10.0 on a scale of 1-10. |
