Phoenix palms are very easy to grow & very accepting of many different environments. They do extremely well in our rainforest. Most Phoenix palms are relatively slow & would probably rate about a 3.0 on a 1-10 scale.

Phoenix palms hybridize very easily so a mixture of different Phoenix species in a garden setting is very likely to produce hybrids. As a result, many Phoenix palms sold under a particular name, may in fact be hybrids.
