This is a wonderful & truly spectacular palm with large undivided fronds. As a small individual the spines on the trunk/stem are numerous & substantial. As the palm gets taller & the trunk develops, the spines are much less obvious & are almost non-existent on parts of the trunk.

On a 1-10 scale, growth rate is about a 4.0. As with all the palms from the Seychelles it requires warm weather & high rainfall in order to be grown successfully.
