PELAGODOXA
LPG Area:
Samoan Loop, Metroxylon Avenue, Taveuni Trail
Distribution: 1 species in the Marquesas (where it is rare)
Growing Comments:

Pelagodoxa henryana is a unique & beautiful palm & generally not easy to find, even at nurseries that specialize in palms. It can be grown in full sun or partial shade, but will probably look its best in an area that's somewhat protected from the sun & certainly from wind, which has a tendency to shred the large, undivided fronds.

Not a very fast grower. Probably about a 3.5 on a 1-10 scale. This is a truly tropical palm & it requires high humidity, rainfall & warm temperatures in order to be grown successfully.
