CARPOXYLON
LPG Area:
Tongan Drive, Vanuatu Walk, Metroxylon Avenue, Tahiti Trail, Pacific Drive
Distribution: 1 species in Aneityum, Vanuatu (New Hebrides)

Growing Comments:

When it comes to beautiful palms, Carpoxylon macrospermum is right there at the top with its very long crownshaft & long, arching fronds. It thrives in our rainforest environment & probably will not grow too well outside of the tropics & sub-tropics. Growth rate is about a 5.5 on a 1-10 scale.

I think this will be a very popular palm for tropical & sub-tropical areas. I planted so many because it's a palm that I really like because of its beauty combined with its relative rarity (it was thought to be extincty at one time), so a grove of 75 of these palms is quite unique.
